| Note: | Wow that's interesting. And not easy if it's just a single mom taking care of a chick. Luckily she seems to be a pretty good provider and the chick is big so easier to leave on his own. I haven't seen a male at all and have been wondering if something happened to Dad. That would explain another male trying to move in, though. I will consult my local osprey expert about this situation. In the meantime, looks like Mom brought a fish tail home around 11:30 this morning and fed the chick. | ||||||

| Note: | Just noticed that there was another feeding very early this a.m. so Mom is certainly doing her best. My osprey expert couldn't be certain but said that if a new male were to bring a fish with him, then he would likely be accepted, but if he tried to hurt the chick, Mom would defend it. Apparently there have been cases where a chick-less male fostered chicks at the nest he was claiming. So it will be very interesting to see what happens. | ||||||

| Note: | I agree that the two cameras don't seem synched up at all. I might be able to find out what time frame that 2nd one is operating on. Re the intruder ospreys, my osprey expert friend said that it's not uncommon for other hungry fledglings to barge in on a nest where fish are being provided. Can anyone tell if they are adults or not? Juveniles are the same size as adults but not as dark, and their feathers have pale tips and look more scaly. Looking back at the video, it appears there was a feeding at about 7am, and then some feeding around 3pm, though that one looked more like leftovers and not a new fish being delivered. I hope the chick is getting enough food. | ||||||
