Description

Nest in dead tree on the north edge of the pond/marsh inside Washburn Park in Marion. Another dead tree nearby used as a perch by the ospreys.

Note: No osprey activity observed. Last year's nest was completely blown away over the winter.
April 10 lost_bird 2 N N
Note: Saw two ospreys on the nest and a couple more flying around farther away. The returning pair has started rebuilding the nest.
May 13 lost_bird 1 U N incubation
Note: Observed one bird on the nest that appeared to be in incubation posture. Later saw a 2nd bird higher up in the nest but could not be sure if it was the same one. FYI the nest has grown considerably since the last nest check, and is now quite large.
