July 12 | CyclistBarb | 1 | N | 1 | young laying down
Note: | 3:30 - 3:45 p.m. From route 19, in front of the fire hall, I saw one adult. It was very vocal with continuous calls. I then drove around to the south, taking Union Rd so that I could see the nest from the side. From there I saw a single chick. I could only see its head, so I don't know if it was standing or sitting or how old it was.
August 2 | CyclistBarb | 1 | N | 1 | young standing
Note: | 9:00-9:40 a.m. From the front of the Firehall entrance on route 519 I saw the adult female standing on the nest. I moved to Union Rd because the light was better from there. As I was writing notes, the single chick either flew in or stood up. If it hasn't fledged yet, it certainly will in the next few days as most of the chicks in the northwest have fledged. |
