Laurel Harbor 2. 14-July-19: 1730 to 1800 hrs. 85º, Clear sky, light breeze. One adult flying low over bay near nest. One nestling perched on nest watching adult. Second adult perched utility pole 200 ft of nest with second nestling. Appears nestlings have or nearly have fledged. Male that nests here had red aux band (2022) 44/C (badly faded).

Note: A pair of Osprey arrived at the laurel Blvd. platform on or about 19-April-2025. This check occurred between the time of 1130 hrs and 1200 hrs. on 27-April-2025. Weather: Temperature, 55º; Wind, NW at 23 34 mph; Humidity, 50%; bay conditions, choppy. Male/Female at nest platform. Strong wind conditions prevented them from perching. One osprey was able to settle into the nest bowl while the second Osprey flew off in a northwest direction and did not return during observation. Frank Budney

Note: Weather: Mostly clear with 25% clouds, 59º to 62º; Humidity, 62%; Wind, NW 12 to 19 mph (305º); Tide, high and bay surface calm. Female in nest bowl appeared to be incubating. At 1001 hrs, Male arrived with fish with both adult feeding for several minutes. If there are any nestlings, they were not visible during feeding. Male left the nest at 1030 hrs heading NE and did not return during remainder of observation. Observation concluded at 1130 hrs. Note: English House Sparrows nest in understory of nest. Alerted by a local resident that a "New" OS nest is located at 1162 Laurel Blvd. about 400 yards west of this nest. New nest is on the chimney of the house in question.
June 7 Wildcat 2 N 1 young laying down
Note: Observation (1100 to 1200 hrs) Weather; Temperature, 67º to 68º; Humidity 92%; Wind, 5 to 9 mph from SSE, light chop on bay and mostly cloudy. Female on nest rim, nestling head briefly visible at 1130 hrs. Appears to have pin feathers. Female on alert and began vocalizing at 1147 hrs as boy walking his bicycle approached nest along beach. Boy retreat at 1154 hrs and Female calmed down. Unable to see if there are more than one (1) nestling and its size.
June 8 Wildcat 2 N 1 young laying down
Note: Observed between 1000 and 1100 hrs. Weather: Overcast and misty; Temperature, 65º; Wind, ENE, 13 to 19 mph; Humidity, 89%; Bay, light chop at high tide. Female low in nest bowl at start. At 1001 hrs, Female moved to nest rim and vocalizing. Nestling head brief visible as female covered nestling to protect it from mist. Female began vocalizing at 1020 hrs when Male osprey perched on a piling below nest consuming a fish. Female not happy. Male left piling around 1030 hrs and Female stopped vocalizing.
June 19 Wildcat 1 N N
Note: LAUREL HARBOR, #2, Nest 3445: Weather conditions: Sunny with light haze, 78º, humidity, 76%, wind South 12 to 17 mph. Light chop on bay. Female self feeding at 12:10 PM. No sighting of nestling. At 12:45 PM, a unidentified Osprey circled the nest for several minutes then flew off. NOTE: Vegetation around nest prevented clear view of interior of nest.
June 20 Wildcat 2 N 1 feeding, young laying down
Note: Observation occurred between 0700 & 0730 hrs. Weather Conditions: Clear and calm at high tide on bay. Temperature, 68º, Wind WNW at 16 to 29 mph, Humidity 72%. Female on nest with one nestling with head just visible. Male arrived at 0718 hrs with fish and left nest at 0727 hrs. Female began feeding nestling when male left the nest. Nestling appeared small for this time of year. Head only visible with pin feathers.
