Activity log
Date | Watcher | Adults | Eggs | Young | Observations | Photo | Edit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
June 20 | CyclistBarb | 2 | N | 2 | feeding, young laying down | ||
Note: | 12:50 - 1:30 p.m. I saw the female feeding two chicks. At 1:15 another adult was circling the nest in flight, trying to land, but the female seemed to prevent it from landing on the nest. I noticed a male, probably the mate, perched on a lower tier. I assumed the third adult was also a female. While this drama was continuing, the two chicks continued to eat. | ||||||
July 12 | CyclistBarb | 2 | N | 2 | feeding, young standing | ||
Note: | 7:50-8:45 a.m. The male was perched on a post while the female was on the nest edge. I saw one chick's head and a wing stretch that seemed to come from a second chick. At 8:10 a.m. the male flew off toward the north toward the Musconetcong River. At 8:23 a.m. two big chicks sat up and the female gave them some bites. They were all waiting for the male to bring a fish! | ||||||
August 2 | CyclistBarb | 0 | N | N | |||
Note: | 13:40-14:00 The two fledglings were not the nest which is in the direct sun. The temperature was almost 90 degrees. I expect they are off fishing or seeking some shade somewhere. |
