Activity log
Date | Watcher | Adults | Eggs | Young | Observations | Photo | Edit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
June 20 | CyclistBarb | 1 | N | 1 | young standing | ||
Note: | 1:50 - 2:05 p.m. It is now 81 degrees in the sun. The female stood beside at least one chick which was stretching and flapping its wings. I saw only one. This has always been a productive nest. | ||||||
July 12 | CyclistBarb | 2 | N | 4 | young standing | ||
Note: | 12:25 - 12:55 p.m. This has always been a productive nest. Today the male was on an adjacent tower post, while the female was in the nest with FOUR big chicks sitting up tall on the nest and looking alert! The photo shows the entire family with the adults marked with blue arrows and the chicks with yellow arrows. | ||||||
August 2 | CyclistBarb | 0 | N | 4 | young standing | ||
Note: | 11:15-11:40 a.m. I could hear lots of calls but saw only one of the 4 fledglings sitting on the nest. I could tell the one on the nest was not calling. The calls came from elsewhere. There was another fledgling perched on the top of a nearby wooden tower, and a third on a lower metal strut of the nest tower. I searched and could hear the fourth, but at first did not see it. Then I spotted it flying just above the nest. |
