June 20 | CyclistBarb | 2 | N | 3 | feeding, young laying down
Note: | 12:30 - 12:50 p.m. I was excited to see three big chicks at this nest which is usually "early" or ahead of others in the area and has always been productive. It is easier to see into the nest from the observation post on Creveling Rd which is up hill (almost but not quite at eye level) and in a safe, low traffic neighborhood. Mom was busy feeding the chicks, Dad was on a post. The chicks were calling loudly. Beaks were open!! Dad flew off while I watched. It would appear that all three of these chicks are female.
July 12 | CyclistBarb | 1 | N | 3 | young standing
Note: | 9:00 - 9:25 a.m. The male was on the post but flew off. All three of the big female chicks were sitting on the nest. One was facing the park, the other two were facing Creveling Rd. One was preening.
August 2 | CyclistBarb | 0 | N | 3 | young standing
Note: | 13:20-13:40 Two of the three fledglings were flying over the nest and appeared to be "playing" with each other. The third was sitting on the nest. The third fledgling eventually flew up and perched on a post of the tower. I did not see the parents but all three of these female fledglings were calling constantly. |
