Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
January 7 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Diane H reports the nest is still there
February 8 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Diane H reports: Checked my nest today, and still no sign of the adult pair. It does seem to me that there is some sort of lateral extension to the nest (hard to tell from a distance), so I have hope that one or both has been there starting to repair and rebuild.
March 7 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Diane H reports: Spotted both members of the adult pair in active nest building. They were each flying to and from the nest, each spotted carrying twigs/branches and sitting tall working the material into the nest.
April 12 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Diane H reports: On 4/12, I spotted just one adult, resting on a nearby floodlight pole. I saw no other activity in or around the actual nest.
April 16 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Diane H reports: On 4/16, I saw no activity at all. I'm worried that they may have vacated the nest. I will continue to monitor to see if anything changes.
May 10 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N 2 feeding
Note: Diane H reports: 5/10/26: Both adults present this morning. One on a nearby light post, keeping watch, and one feeding at least one offspring! The adult in the nest was bobbing in and out, and there was one little head popped out to grab food that I could see. Due to the high position of the nest, I was unable to determine with certainty whether there were additional offspring, but there may have been at least one more, as the adult kept bobbing off in another direction as if they were taking turns. NOTE: We recorded 2 young based on this observation. Also, based on hatching, we estimate incubation began about April 5th.
May 15 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N Y
Note: Diane H reports: On 5/16, I observed two adults, one by the nest and another in the nest. After several minutes, they swapped places, one staying in the nest settling down in it, and the other flying off. I wasn't able to spot the babies.
May 30 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N 2 young standing
Note: Diane H reports: On 5/30, I observed one adult and two fledglings in the nest. The adult appeared to be watching the youngsters, and the young ones appeared to be sitting tall and looking around at the sky. No sign of adult #2.
