Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
March 22 baygirl 2 N N
March 31 baygirl 0 N N
Note: 2 adults in snag along waterway, not certain if they belong to this nest since that snag is not in this pairs normal territory
April 13 baygirl 2 U N incubation
Note: Female deep in nest, assume male has taken up a new guard location. Where the old water front snag once stood as that pair is no longer here
April 20 baygirl 1 U N incubation
Note: See just one O deep in nest, lots of action at the other 2 nest sites
May 3 baygirl 1 U N
May 26 baygirl 1 U N incubation
Note: Appears to have rocked down on eggs rather than nestlings, very quiet
June 12 baygirl 1 N 3 young standing
Note: All look similar in size, female quiet on nest with 3 chicks!
June 18 baygirl 1 N 2 young laying down
Note: Just 2 older chicks seen, female calling for fish softly
June 24 baygirl 1 N 2 young laying down
Note: One chick has huge crop, other does not and is smaller, sibling aggression likely, 3rd chick gone. adult female calling for fish, did not see mate arrive during my time there monitoring 3 nest sites
July 8 baygirl 1 N 2 young standing
Note: Female with 2 chicks about 7 weeks
July 12 baygirl 0 N 2 young standing
Note: 2 natal chicks crying to be fed, one older chick, a larger fledgling has joined the nest, possibly from Nat Guard 1 as that chick is missing and likely fledged, that is the only other older chick in the area , this additional fledge may not go home putting food stress on the 2 younger natal chicks
July 14 baygirl 1 N 2 young standing
Note: 3 large chicks on nest, one is an interloping fledgling from few days ado, it won’t be leaving , one had a whole fish m not sure now which is the natal chicks, all look to be fledglings
July 19 baygirl 0 N 2 young standing
Note: Both chicks on nest, one looks weak, the extra fledgling interloper is still on the nest, causing food stress no doubt
July 24 baygirl 0 N 2 young standing
Note: One calling for fish appears very close to fledge, has a dark necklace and more dark feathering on head, second larger fledgling on nest, whiter head, whiter chest, at least 1 has fledged here. Concern for the younger bird as there’s been an interloping fledged with the 2 natal chicks. I never see an adult here recently.
