HHI Osprey Watch
Description
This nest was discovered on 6/11/2026 by one of the HHI osprey monitors. It is a large nest in a tree across from Nunzio's Restaurant on New Orleans Rd. NOTE: It is suspected that this might be the same pair that nested on a nearby cell tower for years- # 2521). That nest was prematurely removed in 2/26 by the cell company after the pair had been seen around the nest. This new nest is very close to (down the road from) the cell tower nest.

| Note: | This nest was discovered by Sandy P while at an appointment near the nest. She reports the nest is large, in a live pine tree and clearly an osprey nest. While she could not see any osprey from her location, she could hear lots of chattering coming from the nest. | ||||||

| Note: | Lisa P reports: I watched for 15 minutes as the parent coaxed the youngster out of the nest and onto a branch (see photo). NOTE: Since this nest was not discovered until after incubation and hatching occurred, there are no dates recorded for these milestones. At this time, all that is known is that at least one egg hatched more than 3 months ago given the current observation of a fledgling. | ||||||
