Description
The nest is opposite the Shanty along the shoreline for the concrete plant and at the mouth of the harbor. This nest was active in 2024 with 3 chicks fledged. It was active again early in 2025 but was disrupted after eggs were laid by construction adjacent to the pilings. Prior to hatching the adults abandoned the nest.

Note: | The female is clearly in the nest on eggs but there is heavy equipment construction on the shore directly adjacent to the pilings with the nest. Additionally, a construction barge is parked near the pilings and is banging up against it. The photos I took of the female are heartbreaking - she looks terrified but is standing her ground on those eggs. | ||||||

Note: | Nest appears to have been abandoned before the eggs hatched. No doubt due to the construction activity. |
