June 1 | wmcdonald | 2 | N | N | |||
Note: | After I saw the osprey on the rim of the nest at URI and then the 2 nestling heads pop-up, I believe I saw the same stage here on this nest. Both parents were on the rim of the nest the entire time I was here. I thought this was queer because the mom had been elusively burrowed down in the nest prior weeks. So my theory is there are hatchlings and I will try very hard to see them next week.
June 8 | cathyv | 1 | U | N | incubation
Note: | Adult was roosting on side of nest, then settled down inside the nest. Assuming incubation. in progress.
June 8 | wmcdonald | 1 | N | 1 | young laying down
Note: | I believe I saw a head popping up today but it was hard to see and I couldn't get a photo of it. The adult was perched on the rim of the nest and perhaps the mate was flying nearby. |
