Activity log
| Date | Watcher | Adults | Eggs | Young | Observations | Photo | Edit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| April 6 | RIBELLS | 1 | N | N | |||
| April 6 | RIBELLS | 0 | N | N | |||
| Note: | No visible birds since last year when nest was partially destroyed by a wind storm | ||||||
| April 14 | RIBELLS | 2 | N | N | |||
| Note: | They have come. I stayed an hour to wait the male after she’d been calling for him a long time | ||||||
| April 23 | RIBELLS | 2 | N | N | |||
| Note: | Eggs always possible but hard to assess. Best guess not yet | ||||||
| April 28 | RIBELLS | 2 | Y | N | |||
| May 13 | RIBELLS | 2 | U | N | incubation | ||
| Note: | Msle continues to bring food as female sits on eggs | ||||||
| May 18 | RIBELLS | 1 | Y | N | incubation | ||
| Note: | Male did not make an appearance during the hour I watched the nest. | ||||||
| May 28 | RIBELLS | 2 | U | N | incubation | ||
| Note: | Male brought a fish. Female did not leave the nest but was seen eating. | ||||||
| June 5 | RIBELLS | 2 | U | N | |||
| Note: | Female and male both present | ||||||
| June 14 | RIBELLS | 2 | N | U | |||
| Note: | Female high in nest. Male arrived unsuccessful in fishing. Chick verbal I think. Could be multiple though | ||||||
| June 19 | RIBELLS | 1 | N | 1 | young standing | ||
| Note: | No male in one hour of observing | ||||||
| June 29 | RIBELLS | 1 | N | 1 | feeding, young standing | ||
| Note: | Unsure if a second chick is in nest | ||||||
| July 3 | RIBELLS | 2 | N | 1 | young standing | ||
| Note: | Both parents were fending off what look to me like Eastern King birds. The birds were dive bombing the nest when the female was sitting with her chick. She started defending the nest and the male arrived to help her. I watched the behavior for 45 minutes. | ||||||
| July 5 | RIBELLS | 1 | N | N | |||
| Note: | Female osprey was noticeably distressed as I checked on her during the heat wave. She was calling out and agitated, moving from light pole to light pole but not returning to the nest. I was afraid the nestling may have perished. | ||||||
| July 13 | RIBELLS | 0 | N | N | |||
| Note: | No activity seen on the nest for three consecutive visits, of 45 minutes to an hour of observation. I believe the nest has failed, like last year, again due to extreme weather patterns causing undue hardship, but without the loss of nest material? | ||||||
| July 24 | RIBELLS | 0 | N | N | |||
