Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
April 15 Seaeaglegirl 2 N N feeding
Note: Observed male bringing food to female
April 19 ilsa Svendsen 2 N N
Note: Female in nest, male preening on extension pole. This nest is so small - does anyone know the backstory? Are these a new young pair? They don't seem to be building it up much.
April 22 Seaeaglegirl 2 U N incubation, feeding
Note: Adult in nest, at 1:39, second adult flew to nest with fish. The bird in the nest flew off with the fish and the osprey that brought the fish settled in the nest.
April 22 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One adult osprey observed sitting in center of the nest with only the head visible/poking up, and it remained that way for the 10-minute observation period. Presumed to be incubating.
April 23 ilsa Svendsen 1 N N
Note: Female looking well sitting in nest. Male not sighted during this check.
April 24 Donna D 2 U N incubation
Note: Female in nest Observed incubation posture male flew overhead
April 26 Seaeaglegirl 1 U N incubation
Note: Adult was low in nest, assume she is incubating
April 28 ilsa Svendsen 1 N N
Note: Female on nest doing quite a bit of nest arranging pulling up big chunks of material and moving them around so maybe no eggs yet…male not seen this check.
April 29 Seaeaglegirl 2 U N incubation, feeding
Note: 2nd adult dropped food @9:42am. Returned and landed in nest for a few minutes.
May 2 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One adult sitting quietly in the nest. The nest material is really sparse; it's not built up much at all. Maybe they're new to this.
May 7 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: Since the start of the season, I have been observing her from across the street, at least 200ft away, and she has been calm in her nest. This time I tried to walk past the nest (still from across the street) to get a view from a different angle, but it caused her to get up off the nest and circle above me making her distress call. I backed off and returned to my usual spot of observation, and she returned to the nest and settled in. Three other people walked under her nest while I was monitoring, including someone with 2 dogs, but she seemed unbothered by them. I guess she realized I have been watching her!
May 14 Seaeaglegirl 2 U N incubation
Note: 1 osprey in nest flew to nearby tree to roost/preen, 2nd osprey still in nest. Roosting osprey flew back to nest and 2nd osprey flew off.
May 16 Francesca 2 U N incubation
Note: Female sitting on nest; male in tree nearby preening.
May 17 ilsa Svendsen 1 Y N incubation
Note: Late morning observation on overcast day. One adult sitting low in center of nest— assuming it if female incubating. Male not observed during fifteen minute watch.
May 21 Donna D 1 U N incubation
Note: Female in nest incubation
May 24 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: Female incubating, male was not observed.
May 26 Seaeaglegirl 1 U N
Note: Female “perched” in nest entire half hour
May 30 ilsa Svendsen 1 N N
Note: Female perched high on edge of nest so I’m assuming the eggs have hatched. ? Male not present. At 4:59, female left nest to perch in nearby Sycamore tree. Nest unattended.
June 3 Seaeaglegirl 2 U N
Note: Female perched in nest. At 9:40, male flew in with some nesting branches and did some nest maintenance. Both perched for a bit. Male flew off and female also left nest at 9:47, leaving nest unattended. At 10am a turkey vulture started soaring by nest and adult osprey showed up and soared around the vulture to scare him off. Adult osprey soaring high above nest. Nest empty of adults at 10:05
June 6 ilsa Svendsen 2 U N
Note: Nest unattended on arrival. Female arrived around 10:45 and began vocalizing. Male circling overhead, but not landing. Then another male arrived and settled in nest appearing agitated and maybe defensive. Second male continued to circle and fly over nest before leaving. Both adults remained in nest. I’ve seen this nest unattended several times this week with female sitting in a nearby tree. Status of eggs/young unknown.
