Date Nest Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations
April 22 12115 Francesca 0 N N
Note: I did not observe any osprey in the nest nor perched around the nest. A couple of minutes into monitoring, I did see an osprey fly overhead but it continued on and did not come down to the nest.
April 22 12129 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One adult osprey observed sitting in center of the nest with only the head visible/poking up, and it remained that way for the 10-minute observation period. Presumed to be incubating.
April 22 12114 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One osprey sitting way down in the center of the nest with only top of its head visible for the entire duration of monitoring (10 minutes). Presumed adult was incubating an egg.
May 2 12114 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One adult incubating in nest. A couple of other adults active in the river on opposite side of the street. I even watched an osprey chase off another bird of prey (a hawk of sorts).
May 2 12129 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: One adult sitting quietly in the nest. The nest material is really sparse; it's not built up much at all. Maybe they're new to this.
May 2 12115 Francesca 0 N N
Note: I monitored this nest for just 10 minutes today and did not see any osprey in the nest, perched nearby, or flying overhead. Maybe my binoculars aren't good enough to view - I'll bring a stronger pair next time I go to monitor.
May 7 12114 Francesca 0 N N
Note: Monitored for 15 minutes, did not see them today.
May 7 12129 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: Since the start of the season, I have been observing her from across the street, at least 200ft away, and she has been calm in her nest. This time I tried to walk past the nest (still from across the street) to get a view from a different angle, but it caused her to get up off the nest and circle above me making her distress call. I backed off and returned to my usual spot of observation, and she returned to the nest and settled in. Three other people walked under her nest while I was monitoring, including someone with 2 dogs, but she seemed unbothered by them. I guess she realized I have been watching her!
May 7 12115 Francesca 2 U N incubation
Note: Both adults in the nest. Observed female quickly switch with male for incubation. Male flew off.
May 16 12114 Francesca 1 U N incubation
May 16 12129 Francesca 2 U N incubation
Note: Female sitting on nest; male in tree nearby preening.
May 16 12115 Francesca 0 U N
Note: I was not able to see them today.
May 24 12114 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: Osprey sitting on egg(s) observed; it got up once to stretch its wings and then sat back down.
May 24 12129 Francesca 1 U N incubation
Note: Female incubating, male was not observed.

June 4 12115 Francesca 2 U N incubation
Note: When I first got there, there were two adults - one sitting in the middle of the nest (incubating?) and one standing on the edge. After a few minutes, the one standing on the edge flew to perch on a nearby tree for about 10 min. At 12:40 the bird came back with a fish and the two adults proceeded to eat together. Then the osprey that had brought the fish settled into nest and the other one flew off with a piece of the fish still in its talons.
June 4 12129 Francesca 2 N N
Note: There was SO much activity in the sky above the nest today. There were six different birds flying around and interacting (I believe 4 were osprey and 2 were broad-winged hawks). I think the nest pair were protecting their nest, even though they were not successful in breeding this year. At 1:04pm I saw one bird swoop down and land on the edge of the nesting platform, but she was immediately chased away by who I think is the female who "owns" the nest. After she chased that bird away, she remained standing in the center of the nest, very vigilant, while the other birds all flew away. After several minutes, she began calling loudly and soon her mate and the other two osprey reappeared overhead. She joined her mate in trying to chase away the other pair, and they were once again all gone from view.
June 4 12114 Francesca 2 N N
Note: One adult standing on edge of the nest, a second osprey flying around and they were calling to each other.
June 26 12114 Francesca 1 N 1 young laying down
Note: When I arrived, there was one adult standing on the edge of the nest, preening. I saw a wing stretch from a fledgling inside the nest. After several minutes, a fledgling crawled up to stand on the edge of the nest with the adult.
June 26 12129 Francesca 0 N N
Note: No adults in nest/on nesting platform. No adults perched in tree that is their usual "spot" when not in the nest. No adults seen in the sky.
June 26 12115 Francesca 0 N N
Note: I did not see any birds or activity today - although as others have mentioned, there is a lot of vegetation obscuring the nest.
July 2 12115 Francesca 0 N N
Note: No activity observed today.
July 2 12129 Francesca 1 N N
Note: One osprey arrived with nest material at 11:06. It flew off and returned again with more nest material at 11:10.
July 2 12114 Francesca 2 N 1 young standing
Note: When I arrived, both adults were standing in the nest next to their fledgling. At 11:23, one adult left to chase off a third adult that was on a nearby telephone pole.
July 17 12114 Francesca 2 N N
Note: Two adults were perched on a nearby telephone pole; no activity seen at the nest.
July 17 12129 Francesca 1 N N
Note: The nest looks more built up!
July 17 12115 Francesca 0 N N
Note: Did not see any birds today
July 26 12129 Francesca 1 N N
Note: One adult arrived with nesting material at 6:17pm. A second adult flew low close to the nest at 6:20, but did not stop by. The first adult in the nest flew away into the trees behind the nest platform at 6:22pm.
