Note: | 24 02/26 female arrive: Onna? 24 03/02 female back and forth, stay 24 03/08 Petras arrive; he and Onna bring large branches for nest foundation; much better nest building this year, full and sturdy 24 April Onna stays on nest, sitting low: eggs? 24 May 5 hatchling(s)! Two? Three? Cinco-Didi-Mayo?! Turns out that there is only one: Cinco di Mayo. 24 June 15 Cinco di Mayo is huge! Onna leaves nest for extended periods, sometimes at watch in the tree, sometimes not visible at all, but swiftly at hand if an intruder flies by. Sometimes feeds Cinco di Mayo and sometimes does not, leaving him/her to feed independently. Both Onna and Cinco di Mayo chirp. Petras briefly lands, but flies off fairly quickly; does keep watch on nearby tree for an hour or more, chirping at intruders. |
