Date Nest Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations
July 25 7795 Jay 1 N 1 young standing
Note: This was the first day I observed the chiick flying ...first time dropped off nest and went below platform and then in less than a minute he flew back to the perch. A few minutes later it flew off the nest and flew north and then south over the nest each time higher and faster. After about 3 minutes he came back to the perch. All this time the adult was in a tree south of the nest watching and calling.

Note: When I arrived the adult was in a dead tree south of the nest, eating a fish, and at the same time the chick was in the middle of the nest without any fish. It seemed like the chick was looking at the adult. It seemed that the chick was not provided any fish. A hour later I came by the nest again and the adult was on the same dead tree and the chick was in the nest.

September 8 7795 Jay 0 N 1
Note: I got to the nest late and the chick was on the dead tree to the north of nest. He/she is not eating and just on the dead tree about 20 feet from the nest. Ever since the weeds have grown high in the nest, I have not seen the chick on the nest/platform. I did not see the male adult around the nest
September 11 7795 Jay 0 N 1
Note: I visit nest at 2 and 3 pm in the afternoon. On first visit the chick is in the dead tree to the north of the nest/platform. He is sitting on a higher and different dead branch of the dead tree. He is just sitting there. The nest has become filled with live weeds and they fill most of the nest. I return at 3 pm and this time the chick is in a dead tree to the south of the nest. The same one where the adult male use to sit and watch the platform when the chick was still on the nest/platform. During both visits I don't see the adult male.
