Date Nest Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations
April 21 11829 BurlyMcd 2 N N
Note: Female in nest. Male repeatedly attempted to deliver a fish to the nest, but was hampered by several other male ospreys circling above him. The female was "chirping" seemed frustrated. The male landed 3x's in the nest with the female, with the fish in his grip, but he flew off each time as the other ospreys approached. After 40 minutes the male hadn't reappeared and I left the area.
April 22 11834 BurlyMcd 2 N N
Note: Male was in nest when I started monitoring. He flew off and circled the area several times perhaps because there was a black vulture flying above the same field. The female flew by carrying a large stick but didn’t land in the nest…the vulture was still nearby. The male Osprey then continued to fly around the area for 15 minutes, no more sign of the female or the stick.
