Date Nest Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations
May 4 11744 SamandWill 2 U N incubation
Note: Observed the, likely, male return to the nest, and seated female, with a fish. The male then returned to his favorite perch in the trees.
May 4 12068 SamandWill 2 U N incubation
Note: We saw both ospreys in the nest, and then the male flew to a nearby tree. The female remained seated in the nest the whole time.
May 11 12068 SamandWill 2 U N incubation
Note: Male observed in tree
May 11 11744 SamandWill 2 U N incubation
Note: Male observed with fish. He was eating it in a tree, and then brought the female some food, who was in the nest.
May 25 12068 SamandWill 2 N N
Note: Female was in nest, with male in nearby tree. There is another nest to the east on or near a utility pole, but did not observe a bird in the nest. There was a 3rd osprey flying in the area but did not seem to be agitating the pair.
May 25 11744 SamandWill 2 N N
Note: Looked like female was eating while male watched from nearby tree.
June 25 12068 SamandWill 1 N N
Note: Female was visible and seated towards the top edge of the nest. Could be located there to make room for any young, but did not see any. There were other osprey flying in the area, but did not see the male in his normal perch in a nearby tree.
June 25 11744 SamandWill 1 N 3 young standing
Note: Parent in nest with young. One young standing erect, one crouching below parent, and one laying down behind parent. Did not observe other parent in usual perch in nearby tree.
July 15 11744 SamandWill 2 N 2 young standing
Note: Nest looks pretty destroyed but saw two fledglings land and call for parents / food. saw two other adults in the area (one in nearby tree where one parent usually sits, one on the railing of a nearby bridge - had not seen this before) and the four also flew as a group for some time.
July 22 12068 SamandWill 1 N 2
Note: two in nest - difficult to tell if both were fledglings or one adult with one fledgling. looks like nest to the east had been destroyed.
August 17 12068 SamandWill 1 N N
Note: We didn't see any osprey in the nest, but we saw one perched across the river.
August 17 11744 SamandWill 2 N 2 young standing
Note: Since the original nest was destroyed in a recent storm, it's hard to confirm that the family of ospreys observed was the our original family (we had observed other ospreys beyond the woods previously, but they have never congregated where we saw these). We saw one osprey perched on a post, and three ospreys flying around.
