Note: Incubation began mid-April or earlier...female very attentive...hatched at least two, maybe three in the last week of May...one or two died within the first days...the last lived for at least three weeks (died ~ week of 23 June)...that last week of June, female seemed stressed (heat dome?)...lots of fluid drooling from beak...nestling still alive...lots of vocalizations...male?...nestling body on pier in early July...

Note: incubation in early to mid April devoted female, veteran pair, it seems 2-3 eggs hatch in late May 1 nestling dies in first days the surviving young lived at least until 23 June...died later that week...body on pier in early July incubation and nest building behavior in August. Peter McLean
