Date Nest Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations
March 31 6887 ospreyBabs 1 N N
Note: I saw one Osprey fly over the area, but the Ravens appear to be nesting here again, so unless something unusual happens, there won't be an osprey nest here this year.
March 31 8506 ospreyBabs 2 N N
Note: I could see two osprey atop the cell tower from the very distant vantage point of White Lake Natural Resource area, at the lake itself. I do have a photo, but not sure if I can upload it or not on this new site.
May 19 6887 ospreyBabs 2 N N
Note: 9:23am: Since at least May 19, and through mid-July, there have been two osprey here, building up a nest on the top tier of the cell tower. The pair here on this date spent hours bringing in branches - and at one point I'm almost certain there was a third osprey in the area and on the platform. The pair was alerting for a long time, in any case. As far as I can tell from the photos, the third was another female. I saw one of the Osprey pair more-or-less skydancing with a large branch; it flew in big circles all around the nest with this big branch, diving and fluttering its wings. It was not vocalizing, though, so I could have been misinterpreting this. A Raven eventually landed on the platform and starting screaming at the osprey pair - and they both seemed to have left for about an hour. But when I returned to the area they were back and bringing more sticks in as I was leaving. I have seen them there each time I've visited since then. I am sorry for not updating this till now. I will post some photos when I can, and possibly add other observations also. (I made this log entry at some point between July 7 and July 21 (the first time I recorded no osprey sightings); forgot to write the date as I did it, sorry.)
