Maps & Data

New Folly Field Nest is not currently following any individual nests.
Description
In late summer 2023, contractors removed the tree in which nest 7473 was located. While requested, the contractors didn't build a platform for the pair to use in 2024. However, a brand new nest has been located very close to this old nest site. We believe it might be the pair who has returned and started a new nest high up on a very tall electrical tower in the Islanders Beach Park located at 92 Folly Field Road. The pair is assumed to be Ozzie and Harriet. This pair was very productive in the past and while we can not be certain, we believe it is the same pair.

Note: | Linda S reports: Sorry to say no activity at tower where nest was last year. The old nest was gone, probably blew down in one of the storms. Will continue to check.
March 15 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | N | N
Note: | Linda S reports: Great news! There is a nest and some activity there. Today I saw the female fly away from the nest. Can’t see anything else, but “we have a pulse”! I will keep a close eye on activity & will report progress! Made me smile today, looking forward to more activity!
March 28 | HHI Osprey Watch | 0 | N | N
Note: | Linda S reports: Haven’t seen much activity in nest but there are 3 Osprey flying in the area. One is female, one male but couldn’t see third. Maybe it’s just a visitor but I will keep an eye out for any activity in the nest! |
