Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
January 7 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Kathy A reports that the nest is still there.
February 18 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Kathy A reports 2/17/26: Nest 9117 has always been late to arrive, usually mid March. The nest needs lots of repair so they’ll be very busy once they get here!
February 28 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Kathy A reports: No sightings of any Osprey yet at nest 9117 as of February 28. I’ve checked many times and do not believe that I’ve missed seeing them as the nest is still in disrepair. Fingers crossed it’s just the cold weather delaying their return.
March 3 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Kathy A reports: nest 9117 - 3/3- I saw two osprey there - one in the nest and one on the limb by the nest - but then their behavior became aggressive toward one another - and not indicative of mating or of a bonded pair - they nearly attacked one another and then both flew off and I haven't seen any osprey there since - there is no indication of nest rebuilding either. But I'm keeping a steady watch as to what unfolds there. (see photos) NOTE: While two were seen at the nest, it is unclear, based on Kathy's report, if this is truly a bonded pair. We are not listing the nest as occupied by a bonded pair yet. We will wait to confirm. The aerial activity MIGHT be the start of mating..or a conflict.
March 4 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Two photos were submitted for 3/3 so this is the second one. NOTE: While two were seen at the nest, it is unclear, based on Kathy's report, if this is truly a bonded pair. We are not listing the nest as occupied by a bonded pair yet. We will wait to confirm. The aerial activity MIGHT be the start of mating..or a conflict.
