Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
January 6 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Diane R reports: This nest appears to be in great shape. No osprey activity as yet.
January 12 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Diane R reports: I've observed one osprey visiting the nest this week but haven't seen it do any nest repairs yet. The first day I saw it was Monday, January 12th.
February 8 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Diane R reports: Daisy arrived sometime over the weekend and has already been quite vocal about what material Duke needs to bring back to the nest. Let the fun begin!
February 19 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Diane R reports: Daisy and Duke have been very busy sprucing up their nest this week. I don't think there was much damage done to it this winter because I've noticed Duke bringing more Spanish moss and less branches.
March 10 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Sue and Diane report that while this pair has not yet mated, they have been very active.
March 26 HHI Osprey Watch 2 U N incubation
Note: Diane R reports: Yesterday I observed Duke bringing a fish to the nest. Daisy flew away with the fish and Duke settled down in the nest, which tells me incubation has begun. Later in the day Duke brought more nesting material.
April 11 HHI Osprey Watch 0 U N
Note: Diane R reports: Nothing really new to report. I'm sure the egg(s) are still incubating but I'm going out of town until the 21st so maybe something will have happened by the time I get back.
April 25 HHI Osprey Watch 2 U U feeding
Note: Diane R reports: oday I observed Duke brings part of a fish back to the nest and then leaving. I can just see the top of Daisy's head and an occasional wing flap. I'm sure I can hear a tiny peep, so we have at least one baby being fed. Another osprey has been flying around and keeping Duke very busy
