Note: | Sue A reporting that the MRS. Arrived early last week! Happy to see her return and MR. has finally stopped calling for her. They (Duke & Daisy) are busy repairing their nest and making it know to the CROWS ?⬛ that they need to back off. Here’s hoping for a productive nest ? and little ones.

April 16 | HHI Osprey Watch | 2 | U | N
Note: | Diane R reports: It's been very hard to tell exactly what has been happening in our nest due to it's shape. We definitely observed mating but after that it was just best guess on when Daisy started sitting on eggs and when they hatched. What we observed yesterday was Duke bringing food to the nest and Daisy appeared to be standing in the nest to feed her chicks. There are so many birds chirping in the area it's impossible to tell how many chicks there are. We will now start watching for little heads to pop up.
May 7 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | U | U
Note: | Diane R reports: Today I finally saw a little head pop up when Daisy was desperately calling for Duke to make a food delivery. I'm pretty sure I can hear two little voices but can only confirm one because I saw its head
May 22 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | U | 2
Note: | Diane R reports: Today I thought I kept hearing two different little voices and this afternoon Sue actually saw two sets of little wings, with Daisy sitting on the outside edge of the nest. The black birds have been doing a lot of pestering this week but so far everyone is safe and sound.
May 31 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | 2 | 2 | feeding
Note: | Diane R reports: Today, May 31st, Sue observed the chicks sitting up on the rim of the nest while both parents flew in circles, so it won't be long before they start fledging. Yesterday they were so vocal I went out to observe them for a little while. Daisy and the two chicks were begging for food to be delivered. When they saw Duke coming with a fish the volume really picked up. Once he actually delivered the fish and moved to the edge of the nest their tone changed. It was like they were so excited to have food they just kept saying thank you, thank you, thank you.
June 5 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | 2 | 2
Note: | Diane R reports: our little ones are getting ready to fly the coop. Today, 6/5/25, I saw the oldest chick sitting on a branch. It would then hop down into the nest, flap its wings, and hop back on the nest. I sat down to watch for a little while and the next thing you know it took off and flew in a pretty good sized circle before landing back on the branch. It was so cute watching it come in for a landing because it's legs and claws are still on the small size. I haven't seen the younger chick branch yet, but it should happen soon.
June 15 | HHI Osprey Watch | 1 | U | 2 | feeding
Note: | Diane R reports: I was traveling for a few days but yesterday 6/15 I noticed that both chicks and fledged. I could hear them in surrounding trees and only came back to the nest when food was being delivered. |
