March 7 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 No activity seen on nest but male osprey landed on a branch 10 feet away on adjacent tree and stared at nest for a long time
March 27 HHI Osprey Watch 1 Y N incubation
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 Osprey recumbent on nest
April 10 HHI Osprey Watch 2 Y N incubation
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 Male osprey sitting on branch looking at nest.. I could not see into the nest but I assume there was a female in it. Based on past signs of incubation, we assume it is continuing.
April 29 HHI Osprey Watch 2 Y N incubation
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 Osprey low in the nest repositioned. Male in nearby tree.
May 15 HHI Osprey Watch 2 Y N incubation
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 Osprey recumbent on nest. I saw the crossed win tips sticking over edge. Male in nearby tree.
May 30 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N 1
Note: Jack C reports: 7632 Female was sitting on side of nest looking in. When she saw me she started vocalizing loud and rapid. Then she flew up and circled around right over me and swooping in about 5 feet over my head shrieking and making low pitched cries. She did this repeatedly for about 5 minutes. When I went behind some bushes out of her sight she flew back into the nest. So I assume she has hatchling(s) there. NOTE: Based on this observation, we are recording at least 1 nestling. Our best guess based on incubation report is that the eggs may have hatched about May 8th, but that is just an estimate. If that is the case, the young would be too small to see for another week or so.
