Description
Nest 7016 location clarification: Located behind the PSD building at at 21 Oak Park Dr, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926 The nest can be seen above the PSD building from several locations. The monitor has named them Spark (m) and Dixie (f.) Historical info: This nest was rebuilt in 2018 between two metal utility poles opposite the unused nest 2513 which was located on Power Alley.

| Note: | Wendy D reports (sub for Mary) I watched the PSD nest 7016 for nearly 30 minutes today. I viewed it from three different angles. I could not see any chicks, however, the Mom was sitting vertically on the nest the entire time. She was calling and I could see another Osprey high above in the sky. It was clearly an adult female, identifiable by its eye, feathers, and necklace. It is a very deep nest so I would guess from the mother's stance that there is a chick or chicks in it. NOTE: Based on this update, we are listing suspected hatching in late May. This update seems to indicate that there is one chick down in the nest confirmed by upright position of the adult. For now, we will list hatching as May 25 and tentatively list 1 young. We can adjust as needed. | ||||||
