| Note: | Jeff M reports that this nest is in tact. Popeye remains in and about the nest all season. | ||||||
| February 8 | HHI Osprey Watch | 2 | N | N | |||
| Note: | Jeff M reports: " SHES BACK Olive Oyl” . Popeye (male) never left. She is back and maybe for so long as over 1 week- never got a clear sighting of both together then yesterday and today I Have but I suspected she was there for over a week and not leaving the nest so maybe even a bit longer. Usually I will see here on her perch when she arrives. | ||||||
| March 26 | HHI Osprey Watch | 2 | N | N | |||
| Note: | Jeffrey M reports: A bit of an update. Olive Oyl (female) arrival time needs changed . Turns out the earlier report was wrong because that was not Olive Oyl and Popeye ran her(?) off. But the good news is Olive arrived the first week of March and all is going well with the nest and the couple. | ||||||
| May 9 | HHI Osprey Watch | 2 | U | N | |||
| Note: | Jeffrey M reports: Lots of activity in and out and chirping noises. Unfortunately this year the trees growth around the nest box completely blocks my sight lines so have not had any visual of the nest torpor. Will keep a watch out for young ones. NOTE: incubation date of 4/5 is an estimate due to difficulty seeing the nest Mating was prolific around March 25. | ||||||
| May 28 | HHI Osprey Watch | 2 | N | 1 | feeding | ||
| Note: | Jeffrey M reports: .Popeye is taking fish to the nest repeatedly during the day and there is plenty of chirping coming from the nest. NOTE: Based on behavioral observations, it appears that at least one hatchling is in the nest. | ||||||
