Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
February 11 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Marie M reports: no activity observed on 2/11/26.
February 24 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Marie M reports: There is no activity at this nest site.
March 4 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Marie M reports: I was at the Coastal Discovery Museum today for a school program, mostly held in the fields . I observed the nest for 4 hours. No ospreys were observed.
March 28 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Marie C reports: At 9 am I saw one Osprey on the nest. It stayed a few minutes and then flew away. I did not see it again that morning. Also, a museum staff member added: one Osprey over the past day or so. It was bringing sticks to the nest, but she had not seen a pair. NOTE: The camera on the nest is not currently operating, but the employee said the museum was going to fix the camera on the nest.
April 26 HHI Osprey Watch 2 Y N incubation
Note: Marie M reports: I was at the annual Art Market at Honey Horn yesterday, 4/26. I arrived at 10:30 and saw a pair of osprey on the nest. They were vocalizing. After about 5 minutes, one flew off. The other remained on the nest. I believe they were exhibiting the flat back position. I am hopeful that they may have eggs in the nest. NOTE: Based on this data, we will assume that incubation has begun.
May 6 HHI Osprey Watch 2 Y N incubation
Note: Marie M reports: I went by the museum today. Stayed for 20 minutes. I saw one Osprey, possibly sitting on an egg. It was so low in the nest I could only see the top of its head. Another Osprey flew around but never landed and did not have anything in its talons. Hope for hatchlings.
May 15 HHI Osprey Watch 0 Y N incubation
Note: Marie M reports: I did not see an Osprey on the nest. No Osprey at either brief viewing 3 hours apart. NOTE: This is not an unusual report since incubation began in late April so Mom is probably hidden in the nest. Camera update: The Coastal Discovery had all the electronics checked out on their Osprey cam. However when they turned it on it didn’t work. We hope it gets fixed soon.
May 17 HHI Osprey Watch 1 Y N
Note: Photo submitted showing Adult Osprey flying back into the nest. We believe that they may have switching places after a break.
May 22 HHI Osprey Watch 1 Y N incubation
Note: Marie M reports: One osprey was visible on the nest. Later, no sighting of osprey NOTE: We are assuming that incubation continues.
May 29 HHI Osprey Watch 0 U N incubation
Note: Marie M reports: I was at Honey horn at 12:30 pm. I did not see an osprey on the nest. I left at 1 pm. Still no visible bird. NOTE: Since we do have a report of possible incubation, it is possible that Mom is down in the nest and not visible. This is a very high platform and hard to see the nest without a working camera.
June 11 HHI Osprey Watch 0 U N
Note: Marie M reports: I observed the nest on 6/10 and 6/11. I did not see any activity in the nest. I usually view the nest around 1 pm NOTE: Since we believe incubation began about May 15th, it is likely that the female is hunkered down in the nest incubating. If the incubation date is about right, we should expect to see a change in the Mom's behavior (IE Standing up head bobbing/feeding motion into the nest) maybe the end of next week/the start of the following week.
June 12 HHI Osprey Watch 1 U N
Note: Marie M and Dawn B report one osprey at the nest this morning.
