Date Watcher Adults Eggs Young Observations Photo Edit
January 18 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Robin S reports: the nest is still there, but no evidence of housekeeping yet.
February 24 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Robin S reports: No evidence of return yet
March 8 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Sheila B reports: Female osprey standing, chirping and looking around the area. Male appeared from the back of the nest where he had not been visible from my angle. He flew out and returned with a stick. Could see his wingtip feathers as he appeared to be arranging the new stick. After that both ospreys were out of view then some wings showed up – possible mating? Male flew out and female remained standing in the nest. (Photo is just the female)
March 14 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Robin S reported she spent 30 minutes at the nest observing. She saw 3 ospreys flying about and heard one osprey close by, but couldn't find it. NOTE: Because none of those ospreys were either in the nest or on a branch in the nesting tree, it cannot be determined if any were part of this nest's pair.
March 18 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Linda O reports: I am monitoring Robin's nest while she is out of town. I checked on the nest at 10:15 am yesterday, 03-18-2026, and did not observe any Ospreys in the nest or the general area.
March 21 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Linda O reports: I checked on Nest #2512 this morning at about 9:40 AM, hoping to see some activity, but I did not. I could not hear or see any osprey in the area either. I will try again this week. Attached is a picture of the nest which appears to be in good condition, so hopeful.
April 4 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Robin S reports: visited the nest this morning at 9:16 and both were on the nest hanging out. The male stretched out his wings and looked impressive. NOTE: This appears to be mating behavior
April 17 HHI Osprey Watch 2 N N
Note: Robin S reports: When I arrived at 9:00 am today, the female as sitting in the nest. Shortly after arrival, she sat up and called to her mate. The male brought in some nesting material. After some discussion from the female, mating began and once completed the male exited the nest.
April 21 HHI Osprey Watch 1 N N
Note: Robin S reports: I passed by the nest around 10:00 and the female was standing on the nest.
April 25 HHI Osprey Watch 0 N N
Note: Robin S reports: Arrived at the nest Saturday 4/25 at 8:45 and observed for 30 minutes. No observation of the ospreys. If the female is sitting on eggs it would be difficult to see her. NOTE: It is unclear if incubation has been initiated. Mating was last observed 8 days ago ago, so it is possible. But will hold off recording that until another observation is made.
