Note: Carol U reprots: Nest 2508 1/27/25. 12:30pm. Initial observation for 2025. The nest is empty. Nest is intact but will need some sprucing up when the birds return. Note: the weather has been extremely cold and approximately 3 inches of snow for the past 6 days.

Note: Carol U reports: dates that I checked the nest and there was no activity—I can list them: 2/3; 2/6; 2/10; 2/13/; 2/15 2/17/25 10:15. One bird on the nest. Nest does have additional sticks and moss. 2/21/25 10:30. Both birds on the nest. Photos below. There has been no birds seen on nest or in trees on: 2/23 1:00 ; 2/27 12:30; 3/1 9:00 I’m not sure if the birds are still here and I’m just not timing my visits at the right time or if they have moved on. I’ll continue to check frequently for activity.

Since I go past this nest almost daily, I will continue to observe and if any activity occurs I will report it. If no activity by mid-May, I’ll consider the nest abandoned. NOTE: Last year this happened and another pair came to this nest mid summer but didn’t stay.
