Note: Male was in nest when I started monitoring. He flew off and circled the area several times perhaps because there was a black vulture flying above the same field. The female flew by carrying a large stick but didn’t land in the nest…the vulture was still nearby. The male Osprey then continued to fly around the area for 15 minutes, no more sign of the female or the stick.

Note: Young Osprey on the ground below the nest…injured leg- called RI Wildlife rehab…They picked up the bird, which, after an X-ray showing a bad break, had to be euthanized. Very sad
